DSQ-1 – Korg SQ-1 Sequencer Eurorack Mounting Frame

DSQ-1 Korg SQ-1 Eurorack Mount
(Last Updated On: 07/12/2020)

The DSQ-1 is a 3D printed eurorack mounting frame for the Korg SQ-1 sequencer.

For the assembly of the mounting frame, the removal of the back of the original SQ-1 sequencer case is required.

Easy assembly

  1. Remove the batteries
  2. Loosen the thin plastic film on one side which is holding the battery holder in place
  3. Unscrew the 4 front screws
  4. Remove the back and pull the battery holder through the back, that the back can be put aside
  5. Slide the mounting frame in
  6. Use the 4 screws from the front to fix the mounting frame

DSQ-1 – Korg SQ-1 Sequencer Eurorack Mounting Frame

  • Hi,
I am interested in purchasing the DSQ-1 – Korg SQ-1 Sequencer Eurorack Mounting Frame but I was wondering if it comes with a 12v conversion ribbon cable. If not how is this being powered up.

    Thanks

    1. Hi Jesse, there are several alternatives available in the shop:
      1. Download STL file – cheaper solution but you need access to a 3D printer
      2. Only frame – you can power it from external with an angled USB cable
      3. Full set with frame, USB to 12V adapter and knob upgrade. (you still need to get an angled USB cable which fits into your Eurorack)

  • I’m sorry, but how to do Step 5: Slide the mounting frame in – I don’t understand how I can do this without bending and breaking it. Is there some trick I am missing here?

    1. You remove the back of the SQ1. Than you end up with a U-Shape front part which you can slide in without breaking something

  • Of course I figured it out 3 seconds after posting the message! 🙂 I had removed the back – too hard to describe what I was trying to do with text. Okay, on to setting this up. I think routing the USB cable will be easy enough. Thanks!
